DESCRIPTION
Live the experience of a true mountain trekking, leaving the conventional trails of the
area, passing through the forests and high mountains with magnificent aerial views of the Fitz Roy, valley of the river of the
turns and Desert Lake.
Camp and spend the night next to Laguna del Diablo. I felt the adrenaline of the via ferrata, which gives access to the
Cagliero Glacier, walk on the glacier and on the way back, experience crossing our Tibetan bridge.
ITINERARY
Day 1: EL CHALTÉN – LOMA DEL DIABLO – CAMP
We start at 9:00 am picking them up from their hotel in our vehicle.
We move to the beginning of the trail, located 17 km north of El Chaltén.
As we begin the trek we quickly gain altitude through a Lenga forest. From there
We will continue through an open environment from where we will have many stops to observe the
mountain ranges that surround us where the Fitz Roy hill, the Forest range, the Cerro
Vespignani and Desert Lake to the south.
We will start from 450 meters above sea level and ascend to 1250 meters above sea level (850 meters of positive slope).
The duration of this part of the route will be approximately 4.30 hours, until the maximum point reached
on the ridge that descends from the Loma del Diablo summit.
From here and depending on the physical conditions of the participants and the weather, you can choose to continue until the
summit or begin trekking down the steep slope of the south face of Loma del Diablo,
arriving at our camp at Devil’s Lake (800 meters above sea level) after approximately 2 hours of
hike.
Once at the Lake we will enjoy a well-deserved rest at the camp.

Day 2: CAMP – ICE TREK GL. CAGLIERO – LOMA DEL DIABLO – EL CHALTEN
After breakfast, we will begin the march through the forest again until we begin to border the
Laguna del Diablo, along easy but irregular terrain, until you reach the beginning of the Via Ferrata.

This part of the activity is an excursion in itself and the views will improve as we gain
height. It will take us approximately 1.30 hours to overcome this section and reach the Mirador del Glaciar. From there,
Towards the North, we can observe the unexplored Cagliero Sur Glacier that for years remained with
life thanks to its orientation and the accumulation of snow from the Neumayer, Cagliero and
Devil’s Hill.
From the Mirador a short walk will take us to the front of the glacier, where the guides equip us with
crampons to begin the walk on the glacier itself. The average stay on the
glacier is 2 hours, depending on weather conditions and the physical level of the group.
After having lunch on the Glacier we will take the reverse route back to the camp and from there
We will return to Laguna Cóndor, following the route of the previous day, but this time with a
smallest positive slope.
Around 6:00 p.m. we will arrive at route 41 where a transfer will be waiting for us to take us closer.
