DESCRIPTION
This hike is the most classic, spectacular and unforgettable in the region. An unmissable tour, even if only Come for a day to El Chaltén, as you can enjoy impressive landscapes and forests until you reach the base of the mythical Cerro Fitz Roy, discovering lagoons of different shades and imposing glaciers.
ITINERARY
We start early in the morning, picking you up at your hotel and from El Chaltén we leave for Laguna de los Tres. After about 20 min. of ascent, we arrive at the viewpoint of the Río de las Vueltas valley, an example of the fabulous work of ice during the glaciations in Patagonia.
After a while of walking uphill, we will arrive at the first viewpoint of the Fitz Roy massif where the needles such as the “S”, Saint Exupéry, Poincenot, Fitz Roy, Mermoz and Guillaumet can already be seen in all their splendor.
From there we will walk for 2 hours through beautiful lenga forests inhabited by countless birds that will accompany us with their song to the Río Blanco camp, base for the most daring climbers who dare to challenge these granite masses.
After an hour of ascent with a gradient of 400 meters, you reach Laguna de los Tres. Upon reaching the maximum point of the trail, above the moraine, the majestic figure of Fitz Roy, the Los Tres Glacier and its lagoon that bathe the feet of this impressive granite mountain suddenly open before us. A sense of grandeur makes us feel the smallness of the human being compared to nature.
From here and bordering Laguna de Los Tres we head to the viewpoint of Laguna Sucia and the Glacier of the same name. Once again the sensations will be unforgettable.
After a break to enjoy the box lunch, we began the return passing through Laguna Capri (one of the favorite places for photography lovers) to El Chaltén.
After an exciting day, why not relax in the town drinking a tasty craft beer or chocolate with homemade cakes.
